North Texas Scales, Inc., was established in May 1991 from the Owens Scale & Equipment Co., originally founded by William Edward Owens in 1966. Prior to going into business for himself Mr. Owens worked with Toledo Scale from 1941-1966, taking time out to serve in WWII. Owens Scale & Equipment Co. handled all types of scales, focusing on quality service and sales to meet the individual needs of the customer. Industrial scales and motor truck scales were the mainstay products of the company at that time. Having grown up in the business, Rodney Owens purchased Owens Scale & Equipment from his father in 1986, and currently serves as president of North Texas Scales, Inc. The company continues to build on its founding principal of providing quality products and services that meet the application and individual needs of the customer. Today, with locations in Dallas, TX and Lubbock, TX, North Texas Scales, Inc. provides sales and service of industrial weighing equipment throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, all of North Texas and many southern counties in Oklahoma.

North Texas Scales, Inc. is a full service scale dealer and a key distributor for Avery Weigh-Tronix, Inc. Our technicians are factory trained in the operation, installation, troubleshooting and repair of industrial weighing equipment, specializing in the Weigh-Tronix product line. From counting scales to truck scales to sophisticated process control systems, North Texas Scales offers quality equipment and professional services. We are the only ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified Scale Company in North Texas. The following is an overview of the manufacturers we represent and the products, services and capabilities of our company.

• Avery Weigh-Tronix - Counting scales, bench scales, checkweighers, baggage scales, deck scales, weight indicators & remote displays, truck scales, forklift scales, rail scales, bin/tank/hopper scales and more.

• GSE Scale Systems - Precision counting scales, bench scales, floor scales, programmable indicators and process controllers.

North Texas Scales provides quality services to our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our service staff of six (7) certified scale technicians, licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture, operates a fleet of fully stocked service vehicles ready to take care of all scale repair and/or calibration needs. Our fleet of service vehicles and capabilities include the following:

• Two (3) heavy capacity test trucks each containing 20,000 pounds of certified test weights for testing and calibrating truck scales, rail scales, etc.

• One (1) heavy duty flatbed equipped with 3,500 pounds of test weights specifically designed for calibrating and testing forklift scales and high capacity floor scales.

• Five (5) ½ ton - ¾ ton pickups or service vans equipped with test weights ranging from 1 pound to 1,000 pounds for testing and calibrating bench scales, counting scales, floor scales, etc.

North Texas Scales provides preventative maintenance & service agreements set up on a weekly, monthly, bi-annual or annual basis to keep customer's scales in peak operating condition and to avoid costly downtime in your operation. Our technicians arrive on-site, on-time, to perform routine maintenance, testing and/or calibration and will provide a complete report on all work performed and final test results.

North Texas Scales provides an applications engineer on staff for custom software programming & system design for a variety of applications. We specialize in complex batching or process control systems, inventory control systems, or automated truck scale operation.

North Texas Scales received it's ISO/IEC 170205:2005 accreditation on June 21st of 2008.
